F.I.R.E.
F.I.R.E. stands for "Football Instant Replay Extraordinaire". During the football season, Tucker Neikirk, Payam Garner, and Ayden Dixon work together to manage the instant replay system at the Friday night home football games. Payam and Ayden alternate manning the camera on the sidelines, while Tucker manages the footage from the press-box. Additionally, Tucker, Payam, and Ayden work together to record and live-stream other major school events!
Community Photos
Brooklyn Powell and Ryan Ursery found a love for photography, and quickly used this interest to bring life and documentation to the various events throughout their school and community. With the help of our program's Adobe Creative Suite and various DSLR cameras, they have been able to provide photos free of charge for the WHHS Homecoming Court, WHHS Basketball Team, WHHS Football Team, White Hall United Methodist Church, Camp Tanako, and other members of the community.
Happy Helper
Ayden Dixon and Mathew Downie are developing a series of buttons that are programmed to express the emotions of our students with special needs. When pressed, these buttons use speakers to loudly say the child's emotions. They will be contained in a 3D-printed box that holds them into place, and labels will be included for each button. We hope that these buttons will help students and teachers more clearly convey their feelings.
Transition Online
Mrs. Young, a special education teacher at White Hall High School, helps to teach her students real life skills such as counting money, proper hygiene, how to follow a recipe, as well as communicating. Around the holidays, Mrs. Young's students make treats for WHHS teachers. Unfortunately, Mrs. Young ran into a problem with hey system of orders. She was using Google Forms, and orders were getting lost and doubled. So, Jacey Jackson and Dannie Owings decided to help. Their goal with Transition Online is to create a website to help Mrs. Young have a more organized system for her orders.
